Speaking at the meeting yesterday, Gov. Sani said one  of the key pillars of his Governance Agenda is ‘Nurturing Citizens Engagement’. He said, “We want to effectively involve our citizens in the decision making processes. Traditional rulers are not only critical stakeholders, but key influencers, who must be accorded all the attention and respect deserving of their exalted position”.

The Governor commended our Royal Fathers for standing strong as agents of moral rearmament, and helping to spread the values of honour, dignity and humanity.  He appealed to them to continue to position our local communities as building blocks for a resilient and progressive nation.

Gov. Sani assured the Royal Fathers that, under his watch, the traditional institution will retain its pride of place. He, therefore, sought their support and cooperation “to enable us quicken the pace of development in Kaduna State”.

He seized the opportunity to inform the Royal Fathers of the State government’s intention to comply fully with the judgement of the Court issued on 10th June 2024, restoring the Chief of Piriga Chiefdom, in Lere LGA, His Royal Highness, Jonathan Zamuna, back to his stool.
